As far as celebrity weddings go, 2019 saw everything from extravagant celebrations to intimate affairs. We started with live concerts by Chris Martin and Adam Levine for Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding celebrations, which also included a trip to a theme park in Switzerland.

Just a couple of months later, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas got married in two ceremonies—one surprise Las Vegas wedding and another lavish celebration in France.

Along with all the high-profile weddings, 2019 was also the year of relationship announcements and Instagram ring selfies. Considering this, we’re pretty sure that the new year will bring yet another edit of Pinterest-worthy celebrity weddings to your newsfeeds. To help you keep track of what you can look forward to, we list out all the celebrations you’re likely to see in 2020, below.

Bollywood celebrity weddings to look forward to in 2020

Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal

On a Koffee With Karan episode in November 2018, Varun Dhawan put all speculations to rest when he (finally!) confirmed his relationship with childhood sweetheart and fashion designer, Natasha Dalal. Though the Kalank actor has kept his wedding plans under wraps until now, his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, revealed some details in a recent interview. “His marriage will happen next year maybe. I am very happy with their relationship. What more does a father need,” he said.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt

This power couple got together on the sets of Ayan Mukerji’s upcoming mythological film, Brahmāstra in 2018. In May that year, the two posed for the cameras at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s wedding reception, hinting at their changed relationship status. Within the month, the confirmation came through an interview in GQ, where Ranbir Kapoor admitted that he’s indeed dating Alia Bhatt. Since then, fans have been privy to their public outings and romantic getaways. More recently, in March 2019, Bhatt declared her love for Kapoor at an awards show. Speaking of her equation, she said, “It’s not a relationship—it’s a friendship. I’m saying this with all genuineness and honesty. It’s beautiful. I’m walking on stars and clouds right now. The best part is that we’re two individuals, who are living our own professional lives in their full form right now.”

Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora

Rumours of Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora’s relationship have been doing the rounds for over two years now. Their entrance together at a fashion show only fuelled the gossip mills further, but both actors kept mum about their status till April 2019. Kapoor confessed to his relationship with Arora in season 6 of Koffee With Karan, and revealed that he may now be open to getting married. Last month, Arora also let her guard down in Neha Dhupia’s radio show, No Filter Neha where she cited her vision for her big day. “I’m all about the white wedding and always have liked the concept of bridesmaids. They would be my closest girls, my girl gang,” she said, before adding that Lebanese couturier Elie Saab would be her choice of designer.

Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar

This couple first met on the sets of a reality TV show titled I Can Do That in early 2018. The show is hosted by Farhan Akhtar, and Shibani Dandekar was one of the participants. By October the same year, the 37-year-old singer posted a picture with a mystery man on Instagram that set the gossip mills churning. It wasn’t long before fans recognised him as Akhtar. The duo made their first public appearance at Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding reception in November 2018, where they arrived hand-in-hand. The pair has refuted any concrete plans to get married, so fans will just have to wait and watch.

Arjun Rampal and Gabriella Demetriades

After dating for almost a year, Arjun Rampal and founder of Deme By Gabriella, Gabriella Demetriades, announced their pregnancy back in April 2019. In July, Demetriades gave birth to their first child, a baby boy, in Mumbai. The couple has been tight-lipped about their relationship, but given how strong they are going, marriage could be on the cards.
